ESOO PARK

Chemistry is an AI dating concept designed to connect people through conversational insights into personality and preferences.

As the sole designer, I explored how virtual AI dates could inform potential match suggestions and create a more personal beginning to online dating.

Background

A familiar dating-app journey begins with profiles, followed by matches and conversations.

Users express interest through photos and short bios. Once interest is mutual, they begin talking and getting to know each other.

Problem

Getting matches didn’t necessarily help people feel personality or chemistry.

Research included 15 interviews and 35 survey responses. The findings showed that 72% valued authentic conversation over match volume, while 68% struggled to sense personality or chemistry through algorithmic matches.

Solution

I restructured the dating journey to begin with AI conversation before introducing potential matches.

The goal was to explore users’ personalities and emotional preferences through virtual dating scenarios, then use those insights to guide introductions.

Final Design

From AI dates to personality insights and potential matches.

The prototype connects AI Dating Chat, a visual Chemistry Report, and personalized match suggestions. Community features support the next steps with date recommendations and shared experiences.
