Background
A new brand direction sparked a fast-moving mobile launch.
iOS engineers built the initial interface directly, bringing the updated identity into the app and enabling early validation.

Problem
As the app grew, its visual and interaction patterns became inconsistent.
An audit revealed gaps in typography, spacing, component behavior, and accessibility. The product needed shared standards to guide future design and development.
Solution
Turn the brand direction and product audit into a shared design foundation.
I translated CoverageX’s principles of trust, clarity, and modernity into layered design tokens, reusable components, and usage rules, prioritizing patterns needed across key experiences
(1) Scalability through Design Tokens
Layered tokens connect raw values, meaning, and components for a scalable system.

(2) Typography tokens
Role-based type styles keep hierarchy clear and typography consistent.

(3) Layout Grid
A four-column grid keeps spacing and layouts consistent across the app.
- Columns: 4
- Gutter: 16px
- Margin: 16px

(4) Button
Buttons fill their container and keep labels centered for consistent actions.
(5) Text Field
Clear input states guide users from typing to validation.
(6) Other Components
Reusable radio, checkbox, and bottom sheet patterns keep interactions consistent.

(7) Accessibility
Contrast checks and larger-text layouts make key screens easier to read.

Impact
A shared foundation for new features and clearer developer handoff.
Reusable patterns and structured documentation reduced ambiguity in implementation and supported more consistent feature development. The system provides a foundation that can evolve alongside the product.

There's a lot more to the story behind this design...
I'd love to walk you through it in a chat or interview!
